The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by divinely inspired men and is God's revelation of Himself to us. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its content. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It is a testimony to Christ Jesus, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
God
God the Father
God the Father is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. He reigns with providential care over His universe. All of human history flows according to the purposes of His grace.
God the Son
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became man at His incarnation, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. Through His death on the cross, He made provision to save us from sin. He was raised from the dead after three days. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth someday to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lord.
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the fully divine Spirit of God. He enables us to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He calls us to the Savior. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.
Mankind
People are the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. All people have sinned against God and only the grace of God can bring us into His holy fellowship, enabling us to fulfill His creative purpose. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and also, in that Christ died for man. Therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
